The Association of European Radios AER is a Europe-wide trade organisation representing the interests of over 4,500 private/commercial radio stations in Europe.
AER is composed of national associations of private and commercial radio broadcasters and represents their interests in Brussels.
AER's main objective is to help develop the most suitable framework for private and commercial radio activity to flourish in Europe.
AER monitors EU initiatives in the fields of media, telecommunications, spectrum and information society issues as well as Internal Market, competition and consumer protection (advertising), in order to help develop the industry.
AER encourages co-operation between its members and across the industry in order to preserve and develop freedom of speech, of enterprise, private initiative and the protection of listeners.

We are looking for responsible and dynamic interns, capable of self-initiative, to work as a team with the AER staff in our small ideally located and pleasant Brussels office on policy issues and media-related projects.

The intern's responsibilities during the placement will be:
daily monitoring of the activities of the institutions of the EU; research and drafting of the AER EBulletin including EC affairs updates; research of relevant information using Internet based tools, publications, and by attending and minuting EP and other meetings; if relevant, analysis and follow-up of specific regulatory issues; preparation of information reports for AER members; research and compilation of radio-related data and statistics; logistic support in the organisation of meetings; maintenance of the AER web site, up-dates, corrections, etc ... any other relevant activities as agreed with the Coordinator. Duration of placement 6 months, full-time
Educational background:
Legal studies, Political Science, EU Studies or International Relations, Economics, Journalism with specialisation in EU Issues.
Knowledge of media-related issues a plus.
Languages Fluent (oral + written) in English and French; other languages desirable
Computer skills Windows environment: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access; insight in Web site management / CMS a plus
